On Third Street Promenade in Santa Monica, a visionary developer was converting a neglected fast food court into a gourmet social hall. We were invited to design the identity components, the signage, and a series of insta-worthy environmental graphics to give the high-profile destination a vintage soul.
The inspiration for the signage system was food packaging stickers. The shapes, colors, and typography had pop-culture appeal, but a modern freshness when executed dimensionally. Signs would wrap the edges of corners and we played with flat dimensionality of the structures. The completed space feels like stepping onto the shelves at a vintage market.
The brand flows through every touchpoint of the experience from the first impression outdoor marquee to the restroom signs.
